Some brief descriptions about quartz glass

        Quartz glass is made by melting various pure natural quartz (such as crystal, quartz sand, etc.). The linear expansion coefficient is extremely small, which is 1/10-1/20 of ordinary glass, and has good thermal shock resistance. Its heat resistance is very high, the temperature for regular use is 1100~1200 degrees Celsius, and the temperature for short-term use can reach 1400 degrees Celsius. Quartz glass is mainly used in laboratory equipment and refining equipment for special high-purity products. Because of its high spectral transmission, it is not damaged by radiation (other glasses will darken when exposed to radiation), so it is also an ideal glass for use in spacecraft, wind tunnel windows and spectrophotometer optical systems.

        Silica single component specialty industrial technical glass. The hardness of this kind of glass can reach Mohs 7, high temperature resistance, low expansion coefficient, thermal shock resistance, chemical stability and good electrical insulation performance, and can transmit ultraviolet and infrared rays. Except for hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid, it has good acid resistance to general acids. According to the transparency, it is divided into two categories: transparent and opaque. According to the purity, it is divided into three categories: high-purity, ordinary and doped. Using crystal, silica and silicide as raw materials, it is formed by high temperature melting or chemical vapor deposition. Melting methods include electrofusion, gas smelting, etc.
